Kim Kardashian is Finally Divorced!

It’s official: Kimye is over, and Kim K is back to being a single woman.

On Wednesday, 2 March, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran ended a nearly eight-year union during a virtual court hearing, and declared Kim Kardashian no longer married to rapper Ye – formerly known as Kanye West.

The 41-year-old media personality started divorce proceedings in early February last year.

The bifurcation process simplified the complicated divorce by allowing her to be officially declared single and legally remove the “West” from her last name; while the issues of child custody and property division would be ironed out separately.

Both have a prenuptial agreement in place and currently share custody of eight-year-old daughter North, six-year-old son Saint, four-year-old daughter Chicago, and two-year-old son Psalm.

Ye – who was not present during the virtual hearing, and has been stalling the case by refusing to sign papers – has behaved erratically in public and acted irrationally during the divorce proceedings.

The 44-year-old rapper requested that Kardashian waive any marital privilege with any future spouses, and to be reimbursed money that is to be divided between them in the event that either passes away.

Judge Cochran denied both and had the paperwork finalised.
